HOW YOU CAN HELP US RAISE FUNDS

There are various easy ways in which you can help us raise funds

  Amazon In Association with Amazon.co.uk

Amazon sell much more than books these days - practically anything you want can be found there so why not click on the logo to the right and take a look?

Easyfundraising - Shop Online and Raise Funds Easyfundraising

Easyfundraising is a shopping directory listing some favourite online stores including Argos, Next, Debenhams, John Lewis, Toys R Us, HMV, Ebay, Tesco Direct, WH Smith, B&Q, Marks and Spencer, Comet, Boden, National Express, O2, Staples, Boots and over 2000 others. Just use the links on the easyfundraising site whenever you shop online and, at no extra cost to you, we'll receive a free donation of up to 15% from every purchase you make. It really is that simple!

It's completely FREE to register and you won't pay a penny more for your shopping when you use the easyfundraising site. In fact you can even SAVE MONEY as many retailers offer discounts, special offers and even 'e-vouchers' exclusive to easyfundraising. We can also receive donations when you register with certain organisations through easyfundraising, for example if you subscribe for a 3 month trial with Which Magazine (costing £1) we receive £9 or if you register with Ebay we receive £4.50. If you purchase Sky HD through easyfundraising we receive £32.50.

If you shop online anyway then why not raise valuable extra funds for us by using this scheme? All you need to do is visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk/sheffieldyoga and when you register, select Sheffield Yoga for ME/CFS as the organisation you wish to support.

It is very easy to register.

Instructions:
  • Go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk/sheffieldyoga

  • Click on "register a user" - Sheffield Yoga for ME/CFS will automatically be chosen as your preferred organisation.

  • Fill in the short registration form (takes about 30 seconds)

  • Make the page your favourite (or bookmark it) and then when you are ready to shop all you need to do is log onto easyfundraising with your email address and password so that we benefit every time you go shopping. (Please remember to log in every time you shop.)

  • You can also access easyfundraising from the easysearch page (see below), or this website.

Easysearch - Search Online and Raise Funds Easysearch

You can also raise funds when you search the Web - with easysearch, a search engine with a difference!

When you search the Web with easysearch instead of Google or any other search engine, you'll raise funds for us with every search you make! Just like easyfundraising it's completely free to use and if you make just 10 searches a day, you could raise £20 a year - or more - for us, just by switching to easysearch.

What's more, easysearch is a 'super' search engine that combines the strengths of several search providers together - Yahoo!, Bing, Ask.com and many more. easysearch tracks down the most relevant and accurate results from across the Web, which means you'll find what you're looking for quickly and easily - all in one 'easy' search.

Check out our unique easysearch page at  sheffieldyoga.easysearch.org.uk  link and use it every time you search the Web. To make it easier for you, you can make easysearch your home page or make it a browser in your tool bar.

eBay - Shop Online and Raise Funds eBay

Registering with Ebay
If you wish to register with Ebay and are not already registered with them, please access Ebay through the Easyfundraising site (details above - remember to log on to Easyfundraising first) and register from there. If you do this then we will receive a donation of £4.50 at no cost to yourself.

Buying on Ebay
If you buy things on Ebay, please access Ebay through the Easyfundraising site (details above - remember to log on to Easyfundraising first). If you do this we will receive a percentage of the sale costs.

Selling on Ebay
We have now registered our group with Ebay. If you sell things on Ebay, you can now choose to donate a percentage of the sale price of the goods to our charity if you so wish. Ebay selling fees will be reduced on a percentage basis. If you donate all the cost of the sale price to our charity then Ebay selling fees are waived. If you donate, say, 20% of the sale price, then 20% of the Ebay selling fees will be waived.

  Make a Donation

There are several ways you can make a donation.

  • Filling in a Form
We have produced a leaflet with a form to fill in. This will shortly be available on our website to download and will be available at classes. It is possible to make either a one off donation or request to make regular payments by standing order and make a gift aid declaration.

  • Online donation Make a donation using Virgin Money Giving
We have now registered the group with Virgin Money Giving so people can donate online. Donations can be either one off donations or regular donations and can be gift aided.
To donate please go to our funding page there at  www.virginmoneygiving.com/charities/sheffieldyogaforme  and follow instructions or click on the logo. Alternatively you can go onto www.virginmoneygiving.com and search for us using either our charity number 1117464, or by the name, Sheffield Yoga for ME (ME/CFS will not work).

  Gift Aid

The Gift Aid scheme enables Sheffield Yoga for ME/CFS to recover a further 25p for each £1.00 donated. If you make donations or voluntary contributions at the classes and are a tax payer, then you may be eligible.

If you wish to help us benefit from Gift Aid please complete and send to Sheffield Yoga for ME/CFS a Gift Aid declaration form addressed to us. A form can be downloaded  here  or you may request one from us or pick one up at the classes.

  Fundraise
Raise funds using Virgin Money Giving
If you would like to fundraise for us, it is now possible for you to set up a fundraising page on  Virgin Money Giving  This could either be for a personal challenge, an organised event or a special occasion. Suggestions for a personal challenge include something like a sponsored silence, losing weight, growing a beard, or even a prolonged lie in bed. One of our members has suggested getting her head shaved to raise money for us.

  Collect Stamps

All you have to do is collect stamps and put them in an envelope and send them to:
Stamps for Charity (026 SYME)
10 Bellamy Avenue
Hartcliffe
BRISTOL
BS13 0HW

It is very important that 026 SYME is on the envelope. The buyer has asked that the stamps are cut close to the stamp - about a quarter of an inch around the stamp being careful not to cut the perforations - and only cut the front of the envelope so that there is no extra paper sent. Nothing else should be included in the envelopes. You can request a stamped addressed envelope from them and we may have a few available at classes. Foreign stamps are worth four times more than British ones if in a separate envelope.

Recycle your Printer Cartridges and Mobile Phones

We have registered with several companies where you can recycle your used printer cartridges or unwanted mobile phones. Some companies will take some cartridges but not others, so please check with the company that they will accept your printer cartridge or mobile phone before sending it off. Postage to send the cartridges is free, but they will charge us if you send one they do not accept. If you wish to recycle a large quantity of used printer cartridges for us and the companies mentioned above won't take them, please let us know and we'll try and find someone who will.

  • Printer Cartridges and mobile phones - Recycling Appeal
The Recycling Appeal collects mobile phones, PDAs and inkjet and laser printer cartridges. All correspondance and cartridges should be clearly marked with VEN0369011. They provide FREEPOST envelopes if the contents are worth more than £2 and will collect for larger amounts.
    Address:
    Recycling Appeal
    31-37 Etna Road
    Falkirk
    FK2 9EG

    Tel:   08451 302010
    Website:   www.recyclingappeal.com
A list of the prices they offer can be downloaded from  here
If you know of any business who may be interested in recycling cartridges or phones for us please download this letter (this may take a long time to download)  here

  • Printer Cartridges - Cash for Cartridges
Cash for Cartridges are able to recycle some cartridges that are not recycled by other companies. They do not accept toner ink cartridges. All cartridges should be clearly marked R6222 with a permanent marker pen and sent to:
    Cash for Cartridges
    Freepost
    RLZL-EUJG-ZYEL
    13 Main Street
    Keyworth
    Nottingham
    NG12 5AA
FREEPOST envelopes can be provided. Contact them first for any packet weighing over 2 kg.

    Website:   www.cashforcartridges.co.uk

  • Mobile phone - Envirocharities
If you have an old mobile phone you don't want you could send it to Envirocharities who will purchase it (for anything up to £180) and donate £3.00 to your chosen charity. To register go to: www.sheffieldyoga.envirocharities.com

Ask Friends and Family for Help

We raised over £60 through Easyfundraising/Easysearch and Amazon over a short period when only a few people have used them. We can raise a lot more if more people register. Please tell your friends and family about them. Maybe you know someone with a business who is prepared to send their printer cartridges off, or maybe you know someone who is willing to run in a marathon for us, or do some other form of fundraising for us.

  Recommending Easyfundraising to Other Groups

If we recommend Easyfundraising to other groups so they can receive money from online purchases themselves, in addition to what they receive, we will receive 20% of what they make at no cost to ourselves or them. Sheffield Yoga for ME/CFS was recommended by the Sheffield ME Group, so an additional 20% of what we make will go to them.

Do you know of any group or charity which may be interested? The group does not necessarily have to be a registered charity, it could, for example, be a church, a school, a sports club, girl guides, scouts or community group. If you know of an organisation that may be interested then please let us know, as we will have to provide them with a link for when they register. Easyfundraising is a popular site that is developing fast and is taking on new groups all the time.
